I’ve been painting!

It’s great to have been painting again after all my wire work in the last wee while, I decided that I’d have another go with watercolours. I unearthed some photos I took up near Ullapool a few years ago and chose one of Loch Broom to use.

Here’s the result:

It’s fine, It hasn’t photographed particularly well but it’s ok. I enjoyed painting it but I’m not convinced by the result.

I’m not really used to painting with watercolours, I worked with them a bit in high school but that was really it.

Recently I thought I’d give them another go, here’s the result:

Harry the horse

For Christmas I gave out lots of arty/crafty gifts.

Here’s a wee photie of the goldfinch I painted for my grandparents. They often see goldfinches in their garden and are quite attached to the wee birdies.

I spent Saturday morning happily painting and making.

It was a real treat being able to spend time being arty and crafty.

The painting was just a wee one of Castle Cambell and the Ochil Hills as a wedding gift for a friend. A little bit of  Scotland for them to take to their new home together in London.

I also made a nice seaglass necklace and earring set.

I’m looking forward to try and get some more arty time this Saturday….now just to think of a project…hmm…paints? Jewellery? Wire?

Here’s a picture of the two paintings I completed while I was away.

The photo isn’t great, no natural light.

One is inspired by the plumage of a peacock and the other is a Scottish inspired landscape.

Here are the paintings I completed when I was away;

I also made some beaded memory wire necklaces with my lovely six year old cousin, I don’t have any photographs of them though.

Yesterday was another very sunny day, we even had a lovely BBQ after spending the day doing some gardening.

I decided to to some painting in the evening as my creative thing;

And now I’m off to enjoy the sun. Again.

It surely can’t last much longer…right?
